Heworth Golf Club member Kevin Dwyer recorded the best score of the day at the Harrogate Area Rabbits’ Cyril Jones Salver pairs competition.

Dwyer scored 44 points as he and Ripon’s K Smith tied for first place with Bedale’s T Taylor and M Sullivan, of Easingwold. Both pairs scored 65 points.

The tournament at Harrogate Golf Club saw all 16 member clubs represented.

Meanwhile, Harrogate won their area match against Halifax-Huddersfield 4.5-3.5.

Harrogate’s winning pairs were K Smith and P Wildash 4-3, S Swift and J Demain one up, D Howell and K Richardson 3-2, and M Turner and K Dwyer 2-1.

The next meeting will be at Heworth Golf Club on Thursday, September 9.
