SIMON DYSON slipped out of the top 30 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship after a hat-trick of bogeys at Carnoustie.

The North Yorkshire golfer was pushing towards the top of the leaderboard after reaching four under par after 13 holes.

A birdie at the eighth was followed by an eagle at the par five 12th and a birdie at the 13th as Dyson looked to improve on his opening day round of 73 at St Andrews.

Dyson heads into his third round today at Kingsbarns needing to improve on his level par score to qualify for tomorrow's closing round back at St Andrews.
