Cycling: Kris Hargreaves finishes first in York Sport Village race
SELBY Cycling Club’s Kris Hargreaves won the Cat 4 race at York Sport Village.
The brutal pace and winds detached Selby trio Paul Clifton, Stuart Davies and Chris Day as the starting 40-plus group was soon whittled down to only 15 riders.
Hargreaves made a sprint no one could live with in the final straight and crossed the line first.
Thomas Kneen also rode brilliantly to finish ninth and gain points towards his impending Cat 3 licence.
