LONDON 2012 gold medallist Ed Clancy leads a top quality field heading to York for tomorrow’s 2013 British Cycling National Circuit Race Championships.
Clancy, who was a key part of Great Britain’s victorious team pursuit line-up at last summer’s Olympic Games, is a member of the Rapha Condor JLT ranks for the men’s race round the city streets.
The line-up for the women’s race includes 2011 and 2012 Junior World Road Race champion Lucy Garner, of the Argos-Shimano team, plus MG-Maxifuel Pro Cycling rider Hannah Barnes, a former Commonwealth Games competitor who last month won the Elite Women’s Criterium at the IG London Nocturne.
The women’s championship gets under way at 4.30pm and is expected to finish at 5.30pm, with presentations at 5.40pm. The men’s event starts at 6.15pm and is expected to last about one hour. The presentations will be at 7.25pm.
Meanwhile, local cyclists will get a taste of the action when four Sky Ride Local rides head into the city centre and complete a lap of the course before the races start.
