Bowls: Triples crown proves to be lone success

After having good representation in the Yorkshire Ladies Knockout competition finals, both York and New Earswick were disappointed not to come away with more than one success between them.

That was as both clubs played each other in the triples with Carol Instone’s team comfortably beating that of Margaret Moss 25-9.

There was disappointment for Instone’s team in the fours as Lynn Metcalfe’s Ryedale team easily beat them 23-5. Moss’ team lost 19-17 to Hornsea in the pairs.

York’s Zoe Eagles was also on the losing side after she had done well in reaching both the singles and U25s singles finals. She lost to Lynn Metcalfe 21-17 and North Cave’s Danni Martinson 21-13 respectively.
