YORK’S never-say-die attitude came to the fore again in the Yorkshire Double Rinks qualifying game when they played Scarborough at the neutral venue of New Earswick IBC.
Paul Humphreys’ team were trailing 13-5 after ten ends and Adam Liddell’s 19-5 after 11.
However, both sides got into gear with Humphreys winning the next five ends to lead 14-13 and Liddell’s the following four to be only 19-17 down.
With four ends to play, Humphreys was 16-14 down but finished up winning 19-16 and with three to go Liddell was 21-18 down though a four then a three put them in front for the first time in the game as they won 25-23.
York now play in the main competition, which is to be held at New Earswick on Saturday, February 18.
