York Triathlon Club’s 2012 ten-mile time trial series

RICHARD SHARP and Jess Bacon were the male and female winners in York Triathlon Club’s 2012 ten-mile time trial series.

The series included three events, in May, June and July, all starting and finishing in Wheldrake and taking in Escrick , Skipwith and Thorganby. The male course record has been broken each year, with Sharp clocking 22 minutes 59 seconds, taking another 19 seconds off the time set by last year’s series winner, David Thomas, in June.

Competitors needed to complete at least two of the three rounds to contest the overall award and Sharp produced his best time in the third race to knock Thomas off top spot. Ian Anderton was third.

Bacon held onto her title for the second year running, ahead of Fiona Beard and Debs Feltwell.

A total of 15 people completed the series.
