Steve Middleton was the first Thirsk & Sowerby Harrier to finish in the popular York Brass Monkey Half-Marathon, which attracted close to 2,000 runners.
Wild weather made life very difficult for the competitors, strong cross winds meaning it was hard to achieve a good time.
Middleton finished in 45th place in a commendable time of one hour, 20 minutes and 26 seconds.
Dan Holdsworth was 126th in 1.26:06, with other Harrier times being: Paul Atkinson 1.31:29, Les Sutton-Haigh 1.38:03, Alison Calvert 1.44:08, Nik Sutton-Haigh 1.50:48, Alan Harman 1.51:11, Judith Seaton 2.00:22, Jo Fambely 2.04:13, Chris Sykes 2.06:52, Ian Codling 2.21:22, Eileen Howell 2.23:20 and Marian Codling 2.44:46.
Harriers are focusing now on their Thirsk 10 Road Race on March 25.
The race is based on Thirsk Racecourse staring at 11am and there is also a Fun Run, totally off-road, an hour earlier. Full details of this and all club activities are on the website www.thirskandsowerbyharriers.co.uk website.
