THERE were 14 Thirsk & Sowerby Harriers among the 117 finishers of the Clay Bank West fell race, the penultimate race of the series.
Stephan Tomaszewski led club members home in 23rd place in 36 minutes 28 seconds, with Rob Burn 28th, and first M60, in 37.15.
Marc Davies was 58th in 44.36, David Read 78th in 47.00, Bryan Miller 85th in 48.18, Carol Morrison 87th – and first F50 – in 48.24, Hilary Coventry 88th in 48.26, Alan Rylance, in his first outing for the club, 90th in 49.06, Steven Scott 97th in 52.25, Pat Kirby 104th in 53.59, Faith Coy, accompanied by husband Martyn, given 108th and 109th respectively in 59.00, Claire Gillan 112th in 60.00 closely followed by Christine Burn, 113th in 60.30.
Meanwhile, Fran Jeffery was among 100 runners who tackled the testing Hardmoors Goathland Trail Marathon. Despite being troubled with a sore knee for half the race, she completed completed the course in six hours and 40 minutes.
Arrangements are well underway for the Thirsk 10 Road Race, which is set for March 23 next year at Thirsk Racecourse.
