Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers finished ninth in the opening North Yorkshire/South Durham cross-country meeting on the Flatts at Thirsk.
The two-lap course was completed by Stephan Tomaszewski in 12 minutes and 24 seconds, Cameron Choules in 12-52, David Shorrocks in 14-19 and Rob Burn in 13-01.
On the other side of the world, club member Ian Codling competed in the Sydney Harbour Bridge Run over a distance of nine kilometres among a field totalling almost 35,000 runners. He clocked one hour, one minute and six seconds.
Closer to home, Pat Huck was the club’s sole representative at the Yorkshire 10k over a multi-terrain course at Newby Hall, finishing 249th out of a field of 270 in 1:14-16.
