A BATCH of Thirsk & Sowerby Harriers runners continued their summer series of fell races with the Inclined To Madness Race on the North York Moors.

The tough race, staged at Hasty Bank near Chopgate, lived up to its name and Lorraine Hiles led the Harriers contingent home, finishing in 43rd place in a time of 56 minutes 52 seconds.

Hilary Coventry was 63rd in 60-08, Pat Kirby came 67th in 60-41, Fran Jeffery was 77th in 63-08 and Carol Morrison finished 79th in 63-11.

Rebecca Hartley came home 85th in 65-26, Nicola Jenkins was 86th in 65-36, Bryan Miller came 89th in 67-10 and Claire Gillan clocked 70-10 to take 94th place. The ladies’ teams were fourth and fifth in the team race.
