CITY of York Athletic Club prospect Tom Somers was in fine form at Bedford to retain a national crown.
Somers hung on to the 200 metres title he first won last year in the under-16s and U17 national championships.
To retain his U17 championship, he won his heat and his semi-final before trouncing the field in the final in which he clocked 21.36 seconds. His personal best time remains the 20.84 he ran earlier this year in Ukraine.
