POLE positions in the Thirsk & Sowerby Athletics Club championship are hotting up.
After 11 races, Stephan Tomszewski and Rob Burn are battling it out in the lead in the men’s championship, with just a couple of points separating them.
And in close pursuit are Geoff Bullock and Graham Robinson.
The ladies’ title quest is clearer with Nicola Booth holding a commanding lead over Christine Burn. But with Pat Kirby coming up on the rails, there is still time for a change.
Pat Huck was the club’s sole representative in the York Millennium Bridge 5k, coming home in 105th place in a time of 33 minutes and 54 seconds in race two as she battles for sharpness after a long lay-off.
