VIC ROOKES was top rod at the York & District Amalgamation of Anglers Members’ Late Spring Match at Laybourne Lakes.
Rookes, fishing at peg 45 on Marley Pool, returned a net of 85lb 8oz, with Tony Stephenson second with 73lb 10oz from peg 32.
Pete Webster’s haul of 63lb earned him third place – hot on the heels of his victory in the under-70s section of the YDAA’s Veterans’ Early Spring Match at the same venue.
He scaled 62lb 10oz from peg 47 to finish ahead of Kev Keane, with 51lb 11oz.
The over-70s category was headed by Selby’s Brian Richardson, with 42lb 10 oz from peg 32, while B Collier was runner-up from peg 16 with a net of 32lb 7oz.
In the YDAA Members’ Early Spring Match, also at Laybourne, Stephenson was a clear winner with 96lbs 8oz.
Rich Darling was second with 68lb 2oz, while Webster claimed third place with 45lb 8oz.
