THE latest open angling match at Raker Lakes in York was won by Gareth Sellers.
The Leeds rod, fishing at peg 18, scaled 54lb of carp caught on double caster fished at 16 metres over loose fed caster.
Sellers spent the first three hours fishing at nine metres without a bite but, when the wind changed direction it allowed him to fish out at 16m against a far side bush. Straight away he started to catch at half depth with fish between 2lb and 4lb.
Second place went to Dave Geldart, of Boston Spa, who totalled 53lb 10oz of carp and chub from peg one.
Bob Co’s Danny Scott, pictured, was third with a net of 41lb 8oz from peg 30, while Dave Wright, of JT Rogers, was fourth with 38lb 12oz at peg 21.
Meanwhile, the latest round of the Acomb Tackle York & District Winter League will be held tomorrow on the River Ouse at Donkey Woods, Fulford and Palace Ings.
