A CHANGING of the guard took place at the York & District Amalgamation of Anglers’ annual general meeting.
Walt Brown – an official with 58 years’ service to the amalgamation – stood down as president after a seven-year stint, to return to the general purposes committee.
He was replaced by Bill Lumley, with match secretary Terry Pinder being elected vice-president.
Jeff Marley became chairman in place of Lumley, who took the position of vice-chairman at the meeting at St Clement’s Working Men’s Club.
The meeting agreed new subscription fees, with a Year Book now costing £39 for an adult and £21 for senior citizens, and £19.50 for disabled and intermediate anglers.
Replacement of lost credentials will cost £6, a holiday ticket will be £25.50 and life membership is now £780. All other charges are unchanged.
A total of 28 members attended the meeting, which officials said was an improvement on recent years.
