The final round of the Acomb Tackle York and District Winter League saw pegs at the bottom of the Bridgefield section dominate.
The top five anglers were all in the last eight pegs of the 68-rod finale, which went to Dean Smith, of Angler’s World Holidays, from peg 89.
Fishing a small ground bait feeder with worm, he bagged 13 skimmers for an excellent winning net 19lb 12oz.
Two pegs further upstream Tony Layfield, of Sensas Wibsey, secured the league for his side with a 17lb 4oz net that gave his team second place on the day behind Angler’s World.
His catch of 12 skimmers plus a few roach also gave him the individual title with a 49-point haul to keep him clear of South Bank’s Mick Wood, who was also in the points.
He had the best catch away from the prolific section at Bishopthorpe with his 4lb 8oz sixth-placed net from peg one in the pumper at Fulford.
Sensas Wibsey were convincing winners after a superbly consistent series with a 58-point haul.
Barlby Village Stores and South Bank were their nearest challengers, tied on 50 points.
The opening round of the Raker Spring League on Horseshoe Lake was won by Steve Jones from peg six. He netted nine carp for 25lb 1oz.
John Cosgrove took second from peg 22 – an all-roach bag of 16lb.
Others: Jim Pearson 14-6-0; Kevin Hey 13-0-0; Ian Brayshaw 12-10-0; Neil Horne 11-3-0.
Mick Addinall topped the Bob-Co Winter Series at Carpvale with a level 21lb from peg 11 on Cyprio Lake.
Offering pole and corn down the edge, he tempted nine carp to 4lb.
Mick Green took second from peg four with four carp scaling 15-8-0.

Denis White returned with a winning performance at peg 292 on the Ouse at Linton on Saturday. He had 14lb 12oz in his net.
Runner-up Ian Bates caught 12lb 12oz of dace and roach to 14oz.
Dave Cheetham chalked up his third win in a row at Langwith with a haul of 73lb 14oz. Keith Hardy took second with 51lb 9oz.
