MICK SMITH took first place in the Championship of the Yorkshire Ouse.
The Aireborough angler caught four bream and two skimmers in his 19lb 6oz haul, all caught in the second hour of the contest held on all waters above York.
Second place went to Pete Hyde, also of Aireborough, with 17lb 5oz, while Chris Smith was third with 16lb 10oz. The contest attracted a field of 92 anglers.
The York & District Amalgamation of Anglers will stage the Tower Trophy match on the Ouse at Donkey Woods, Fulford and Palace Ings on Sunday. The draw will be held at St Clement’s Working Men’s Club at 8.30am.
