PETE WEBSTER was the winner of the under-70s section in the latest York & District Amalgamation of Anglers veterans’ match at Laybourne Lakes.
Webster’s haul of 80 lb 3oz was narrowly ahead of runner-up Stan Haigh, with 78lb 13oz.
Keith Scholfield won the over-70s contest with a net of 56lb 2oz, beating Mick Emmerson, who weighed in with 47lb 9oz.
The next veterans’ match will be at Laybourne on Marley pool on Wednesday, October 9.
The Amalgamation will stage their John Smith’s Hospitals Cup on the River Ouse on Sunday, October 13.
