Sessions ‘A’ lead by a point at the top of NEDL York and District Table Tennis League division one after whitewashing two-man Holgate ‘B’.

Second-placed Coneysthorpe ‘A’ are pushing them all the way and they also enjoyed a maximum haul as Martin Lowe, Joel Wright and Ashley Hodgson dismissed Holgate ‘A’.

Richard Crowther and Paul Robertson guided Railway ‘A’ to a 9-1 win at struggling Bootham ‘A’.

Coneysthorpe ‘B’ edged out Shepherds ‘A’ 6-4 thanks to three singles wins from Paul Cresswell.

Dave Boothroyd picked up his first win of the season for NEDL/Bootham in division two, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a Richard Ingleby-inspired Bootham ‘C’ winning 8-2.

Leaders Railway ‘C’ thumped Holgate ‘C’ 8-2, with Jane Cohen and Tim Smith undefeated.

In division three, Aviva ‘A’ and Holgate ‘E’ played out a draw, despite Ernest Omane-Kodie playing well for the insurance outfit.

Bootham ‘D’ beat two-man Shepherds ‘D’ 7-3.

Kenny Brown and John Stokes were in good form as Railway ‘D’ beat University ‘B’ 9-1, while BT ‘B’ needed a doubles success to edge out Shepherds ‘E’.

Holgate ‘F’ underlined their promotion credentials as they overcame second-placed Bootham ‘E’ 6-4 in division four.

Pete Corner was unbeaten for the losers.

Sessions ‘C’ had to fight to edge out two-man Aviva ‘B’ 6-4, while Railway ‘E’ whitewashed Holgate ‘G’.
