Six of the champions’ sets went to a close final game, with Martin Lowe unbeaten.

In division two, Dave Lamb guided Shepherds ‘A’ to a narrow win over Tramways, though Mike Robinson picked up a good win over Ian Williams.
Pat Swindell and Mark Blackburn were in good form as RI ‘E’ overcame Bootham ‘D’ 8- 2.
Tim Smith and Rich McCarthy of RI ‘C’ proved too good for Bootham ‘C’, who went down 8-2.
In division three, Ray Mitchell was unbeaten as Bootham ‘F’ beat RI ‘H’ 8-2, while Shepherds ‘D’ enjoyed an 8-2 success over a depleted BT ‘A’.
RI ‘G’ thumped a two-man BT ‘B’ 9-1, while Bootham ‘F’ needed the doubles to see off a tenacious Holgate ‘D’.
Steve Potter and Bob Young were the top scorers as Holgate ‘C’ dismissed RI ‘G’ 9-1.
In division four, Neil Lynch and Steve Pearson were unbeaten in Thornton-le-Clay’s 7-3 win over RI ‘I’, while Trustmarque whitewashed RI ‘K’, as did Shepherds ‘E’ to Bootham ‘G’.
