Tadcaster Swim Club’s Jonathon White was crowned Yorkshire champion, the club’s first county king.

White’s crowning glory was in the 50 metres breaststroke where he clocked a new personal best breaking the 40 second barrier.

One of five club swimmers to compete in the championships, White also performed well in the freestyle taking seventh place – and 18th in the backstroke – both in personal best times.

Meanwhile, Bishopthorpe’s Sam Whittaker (10yrs) swam all four strokes recording three pbs, his best result being ninth in the breaststroke.

Nicole Grenier (10yrs), from Osgodby, swam all four strokes and recorded two pbs. Her best result was eighth in the butterfly.

Two pbs were posted by Alex Heard (9yrs), from Stutton, in the freestyle and breaststroke. His top result was 12th in the breaststroke.
