IT Sports Wigginton are celebrating their first win of the Yorkshire Squash League premier division campaign at the fourth attempt.
The newly-promoted York side toppled visitors Hallamshire 4-1 after defeats to Barnsley, Chapel Allerton and Dunnington.
Wiggy got off to a superb start when Simon Myring was too good for Hallamshire’s Luke Watkins, winning 3-0 (12-10, 11-3, 11-4).
Debutant Ed Shannon then beat Dan Lawrence 3-0 (11-8, 11-6, 11-9).
York champion Chris Rusling turned in a magnificent performance to beat Alex Cutts 3-0 (11-8, 11-8, 11-8).
Josh Harris was edged out 3-2 (11-6, 8-11, 11-8, 4-11, 5-11) in a thrilling contest with Mark Fuller, but the ever-impressive Pete Bilson wrapped up the win with a 3-1 (11-6, 11-6, 8-11, 12-10) triumph over Chris Fuller.
