IT Sports Wigginton ’s tough start to the Yorkshire Premier Squash League season continued with a narrow 3-2 defeat against Chapel Allerton.
Wigginton have returned to the league after a four-year absence but have struggled so far, and manager Ian Tooms rang the changes for the clash with Chapel Allerton.
Youngster Mackenzie Nichol was brought in at number five and was just edged out 3-2 by Eddie Stallworthy, while number four Simon Myrne fared better as he picked up a 3-1 win.
York champion Chris Rusling then went down to Neil McKinnon before Wigginton’s Josh Harris levelled things up at 2-2 with an impressive victory over Dominic Hamilton.
This left Pete Bilson to face former world number one Simon Parke for the spoils, and after a five-set hour and 20 minute-long slog, Parke clinched the win with an 11-9 victory in the final set.
