Snooker: Fulford win Burdett Pairs knockout

Fulford’S Tim Lister and Mike Walsh won the York Conservative Clubs’ D Burdett Pairs knockout when they beat Dominic Spiteri and Lee Taylor 2-1 in an entertaining and dramatic final at Heworth.
A 68 break from Walsh gave the Fulford pair the lead but, with the scores close in the second frame, Spiteri stepped in and cleared the last four colours to steal it 59-42 and level the match.
In the final frame, it was again nip and tuck but Spiteri tried to nudge brown onto black on the top cushion only to see it flick off down the table.
Walsh grasped the chance and, with three clinical pots, won the frame 57-47 and the match 2-1.
