Fulford ‘A’ moved back to second spot – 11 points adrift, but with a game in hand – after a 5-2 win over Acomb ‘A’. Tim Lister (45), Justin Morris, Mike Walsh (40) and Pete Dunmore secured the win before Gary Robinson and Phil Carlton replied. Jeff Brown completed the victory.

Malton ‘A’ ran out 4-3 victors over Bootham ‘A’. Nick Dyson and Simon Weatherill (32) put Malton ahead, but John Darley replied.

Roger Ward made it 3-1, only for Colin Robinson to reduce the arrears, but Tim Foggin sealed the win. Barry Rankin (23) gained Bootham’s third point.

Bootham ‘B’ lost 4-3 to Heworth ‘B’ in a last-frame decider. Tony Lambert won the first game, but Darren Colledge (20, 30), Mark Calpin and Brian Birch put Heworth ahead. Lional Barnes and Chris Dawson levelled, then Huw Faircliffe won the last frame for Heworth.

Bootham’s lead was reduced to a point as they lost to Acomb in the Slater Cup Snooker Pairs League.

Acomb went 3-0 ahead with a 56-point aggregate advantage before Bootham rallied to make it 3-2 and reduce the deficit to 39 points.

However, George Rawling and Mike Bowker had a resounding 75-11 last-frame victory to secure the match for Acomb 5-2.

Heworth recorded a second successive 6-1 win over Fulford. They went 5-0 ahead with a 96 aggregate advantage before Fulford won a point.
