ACOMB 'A' recorded back to back wins with a 5-2 success over Bootham 'A' in the York Conservative Clubs' Carlsberg UK Snooker League.

Richard Lillie, Roland Cox and Nick Marchant (24 break) made it 3-0 to Acomb, but Colin Robinson (22 break) beat Trevor Ventress in a battle of the veterans and Mark Darley cut the deficit for Bootham.

However, the comeback was cut short as Paul Holmes narrowly beat Stuart Martel and Mick Borg completed the victory with a black ball win over Steve Carroll.

Paul Scorfied was in top form for Bootham 'B' as he rattled up a 53 break in the first frame to set his team up for a 5-2 victory over Acomb 'B'.

Also winning for Bootham were Jamie Robinson, A Proud, Paul Mahoney and Lionel Barnes.

Acomb replied with Brian Henry and Nick Goodacre reducing the arrears.

Fulford 'A' whitewashed their 'B' team 7-0 despite having three regular players missing.

The replacements were up to the task with wins for Sam Parkinson and Dale Mercer, with Pete Dunmore helping out, plus victories for regular players Andy Marshall, Sam England, Tom Lewis (27 break) and Jamie Husband (23 break).

Heworth 'A' continued their unbeaten start with a 4-3 win at champions Malton.

The highlight was a 54 break by Jordan Worobec, who continued his unbeaten run in the league.

The match was closely fought as Malton won first two frames through Dominic Spiteri and Steve Beal.

Adam Scaife beat Lee Taylor before Simon Weatherill and Mark Winskill produced a high quality match, with Malton's Weatherill clearing the last four colours to seal victory.

That gave Malton a 3-1 lead, but then Worobec hit his break to win for Heworth, followed by success for Neil Wood and Clive Whyte.

Whyte was fortunate to win as Dan Pawson only needed the pink, which he potted but followed in with the white leaving the Heworth player to pot pink and black.

Heworth 'A' have 14 points but are closely followed by Acomb 'A' and Fulford 'A' on 12 points as the league starts to take shape.

Whyte has the highest break of 68, while Borg, Worobeck and Goodacre are leading the player of the year standings with three wins each.
