Clifton topped a century of points reaching 103 for the season in the Spectacular Driveways John Smiths Sunday Pool League with a 6-3 win over rivals Dringhouses ‘B’.

Clifton took control from the outset gaining a 4-0 advantage with wins for Steve Scott senior and junior, plus Brian Baxter before Ricky James gave Dringhouses some hope with a win.

But Jonny Mitchell ensured victory for Clifton with a sixth-frame win.

Dringhouses ‘A’ are now Clifton’s closest rivals after their 6-3 victory over Dick Turpin.

Mitre ‘B’ claimed a 6-3 win over Crystal Palace ‘B’.

Palace took a 3-1 early lead thanks to wins for Ben Rogers, Liam Pearson and Neil Long before Mitre took control, winning all the remaining frames with a double win for Martin Garland and successes for Methven, Stott and Done.

Fulford Arms hosted Corner House in the closest game of the week winning 5-4.

The match was nip and tuck all the way before Steve Whitehead won the deciding ninth frame to give Fulford victory.

Corner’s conquests came from Judson, Green, Farias and Kegg while the winners for Fulford were Scott, Whitehead, Roberts and Howe.
