Clifton took advantage in the Spectacular Driveways John Smith’s Sunday Pool League to return to the top of the table after the Dringhouses ‘A’ game was postponed against the Dringhouses ‘B’ team.

Clifton had a 7-2 victory over Crystal Palace ‘A’ thanks to double wins from Steve Scott senior and Ian Butler and other wins for Jonny Mitchell, Steve Scott junior and Glen Mountain.

The Palace ‘A’ points came from Glen Bolton and Martin Ackroyd.

Crystal Palace ‘B’ enjoyed a good victory over Corner House with a 7-2 win to move into third place in the division, only one point off second-placed Dringhouses ‘A’.

Steve Oakland enjoyed wins in two frames, as did Kym Done, and they were ably supported by Paul Stott, Steve Dunning and Martin Garland, who all had single-frame victories.

The Corner House points were won by Gary Dobson and Joe Wilson.
