MITRE ‘A’ hit back to beat Dringhouses ‘A’ 5-3 in the York John Smith’s Sunday Pool League.
Dringhouses ‘A’ took a 3-0 lead at home to Mitre, with a seven-ball game from Nigel MacDonald putting them in control.
However, Mitre fought back to take all the remaining frames with doubles from Graham Worcester and Dave Catlow. Graham Kelly took the first frame for Crystal Palace ‘A’ against visitors York Health Club and that saved his side from a whitewash as YHC stormed to a 7-1 win.
There were double-frame wins from Health Club’s Andy Sanderson, Kris Hansen and Keith Watkinson.
Castle Howard Ox ‘B’ drew 4-4 with visitors Dringhouses ‘B’.
Ox led 4-3 going into the last frame, but Dringhouses’ John Crowe completed his double for a share of the points.
Mitre ‘B’ drew 4-4 with Crystal Palace ‘B’.
Home side Mitre stormed into a 3-1 lead but Palace came back to lead 4-3 thanks to a brace of wins from Steve Dunning.
Mitre’s Liam Pearson then played a captain’s role by producing a seven-ball game to snatch the draw.
