LEADERS Mitre ‘A’ were held to a draw by Dringhouses ‘B’ in the York John Smith’s Sunday Pool League.

Mitre took a 3-1 lead with a brace from Chris Leaf, but the home side fought back to 4-3 thanks to a double from John Crowe. John Patrick sealed the draw.

Mitre ‘B’ found themselves 2-0 down at home to Dringhouses ‘A’, but came back to lead 4-3, only for the experienced Nigel MacDonald to take the last frame for a draw.

Crystal Palace ‘A’ went into a 3-1 lead at Shoulder of Mutton, but a double from the home captain Ian Jones helped his team take the lead.

However, Glenn Bolton snatched a draw for the visitors.

Crystal Palace ‘B’ entertained York Health Club in a closely fought game where the visitors led on three occasions.

Palace had a cool Stevie Oakland as last man and he completed his double to earn his side a draw.

Castle Howard Ox ‘A’ whitewashed Dick Turpin 8-0 with Jim Dawson, Andi Ireland, Jim Kilmartin and Jamie Robinson all recording doubles.

Castle Howard Ox ‘B’ took a 4-2 lead at home to Fulford Arms thanks to a double from Mick Gibson, but Fulford hit back with Gary Bolton taking the last two frames to force a draw.
