MITRE ‘A’ maintained top position in the York John Smith’s Sunday Pool League with a 7-1 win at Crystal Palace ‘B’.
The win included two-frame wins from Chris Leaf and Dave Catlow, who also had a seven-ball game in the first frame.
Dave Richardson won to avoid the whitewash for the home side.
Clifton kept the pressure on Mitre ‘A’ with a 6-2 home win over Fulford Arms.
Glen Mountain’s double gave Clifton a 4-1 lead and Ian Baxter recorded a double with a last-frame win.
Castle Howard Ox ‘B’ took a 4-1 lead at home to Dringhouses ‘A’ and had a brace from Ian Strickland to take them to a 6-2 win.
A seven-ball game from Graham Ellis set Castle Howard Ox ‘A’ on the road to a 5-3 win at Dringhouses ‘B’.
John Crowe brought the home side back into the game at 4-3, but Jim Kilmartin took the last frame and completed his double for the final result.
A Curtis Flowers double was not enough to stop Crystal Palace ‘A’ gaining a 5-3 victory at Mitre ‘B’.
Palace had doubles from Gray Kelly and veteran Glenn Bolton and a frame from Lisa Jennison in her first match of the season.
York Health Club fought back from 3-1 down at home to Shoulder of Mutton to lead 4-3 thanks to a double from Adrian Chesterton.
However, Shane Kelly took the last frame to force the draw for the visitors.
Shane Harrison had taken the first two games for Shoulder.
