Dick Turpin won their first game of the John Smith’s Sunday Pool League Season at Fulford Arms.
The visitors stormed into a 4-0 lead only for Fulford to get back into the game at 4-3.
Turpin’s Craig Blackburn kept his nerve to complete a double by beating the experienced Gary Bolton in the last frame for a 5-3 win.
Mick Gibson steadied the middle order of Castle Howard Ox ‘B’ with a double to put the visitors 4-1 up at Crystal Palace ‘A’, who then pulled the game back to 4-3 before Ross Done sealed a 5-3 win for the Ox.
Shoulder of Mutton had Shane Kelly and Shaun Harrison both recording doubles at home to Mitre ‘B’, who fought back from 4-2 down to take a share of the points.
Dringhouses ‘A’ went 3-2 up at home to Clifton Hotel, who then proceeded to take the last three frames for a 5-3 win with Steve Scott junior capturing both his frames.
Castle Howard Ox ‘A’ and Crystal Palace ‘B’ were involved in a close game with the lead changing hands three times before the points were shared.
