LEGIONS Thai-boxing Club debutants Catherine Phipps and Liam Brough impressed on their first outings.

The duo, plus experienced club-mate Ian Houillebecq, competed on the Kaoloi show in Harrogate.

Phipps put up a superb performance on her debut only to be just edged out on points by a vastly more seasoned performer in Lauren Reay of Carlisle Dragons.

Brough powered to an emphatic victory in his first bout. He KO’d Ash Oldham from Manchester in the fifth round after dominating the bulk of the exchanges.

Northern area champion Houillebecq returned to fine form to see off Carlisle Dragons opponent Eddie Fisher with a fourth round KO with the knees.
