SPORTING life just gets better and better for York’s Richard Cadden.
The former Thai boxing world champion, who this month opened his new Chok Dee Academy, has discovered his former gym has been nominated for a national honour.
Cadden’s gym is on the shortlist for the “combat gym of the year award”
at the national finals in Birmingham.
Said Cadden: “An application went in from some of the people who used the gym, while the organisers have also taken into account the work we have done in York-based schools promoting combat training to help to develop self-esteem and discipline.
“We’re all very excited because it is a national event and covers all combat gyms in the UK.”
