Darts: Quantock shot down in Open final

YORK’S John Quantock lost 3-1 to Ferrybridge’s Wayne Woodhouse in the final of stage one of the Jorvik Security Darts Open at Huntington WMC.

Woodhouse sealed victory in the final with a 19-dart leg, then a 120 finish for 15 darts and a 14-dart leg.

Quantock had beaten Steve Silver 3-0 in the first semi-final, while Woodhouse beat Quinten McMaster 3-1.

Other quarter finalists were Knottingley’s Johnathan Crossland, Hull’s Jake Patchett and York duo Nick Harteveld and Kirk Bevins, all of whom have qualified for the finals on Friday, September 7.

In the group stages, Quantock threw a 120 finish for a 12-dart leg, while Harteveld hit two 180s.

There were also maximums from Patchett, Trevor Holtby, Bevins and McMaster.

The remaining three qualifiers will be held on Fridays, August 3, 17 and 31.

Entry will cost £5, which includes a players’ cash draw and raffle.

Entries can be taken on the night. Register by 8pm for an 8.30pm start.
