Win for Burnholme against Cueball ‘A’ in York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League

CAPTAIN Marj Pearson checked out on 102 to clinch a crucial win for Burnholme against Cueball ‘A’ in division one of the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League.
Pearson’s closure punished opponent Beckie Stevens, who missed a host of chances, as Burnholme claimed a 6-3 away win.
Leaders Walnut Tree were made to fight for their win at Flag, with captain Diane Moreland and Sophie Simpson teaming up to secure match points after Flag’s Dot Jackson and Jean West had set up the decider.
A win from Clifton’s Karen Hodgson denied Five Lions a full house. Dawn Exton and Anne Bass were both double-ton scorers for Lions.
Slipper produced a superb all-round performance to beat hosts Tramways 6-3.
Dick Turpin were forced to come from behind to win their division two trip to Acomb ‘B’.
Carla Cuthbert closed 112 for a 24-dart leg to draw Turpin level ahead of the pairs, where Vicki Rhodes and Viv Netherwood edged Acomb ahead.
Turpin captain Alison King and Carol Cuthbert made it all-square and Katie Barton and Pam Beilby settled it.
Sandra Bruce and Flossy Crampton clinched a win for Castle Howard Ox ‘A’ at Severus ‘A’, while Bootham Club were 6-3 victors over Edinburgh, whose Amanda Bevan checked on 63.
Severus ‘B’ increased their lead in division three with an 8-1 win at Leeman ‘A’, helped by a 71 checkout by Anne Meek in the pairs with Michelle Kelly. Janet Nelson prevented the whitewash.
Woolpack captain Doreen England and Sharon Nelson edged a 5-4 win over Burton Club, while Sun failed to trouble the scorers at Shepherd ‘A’.
Beeswing, now playing as Shoulder ‘B’, lost to Shoulder ‘A’, whose last pair Sharon Dawson and Pam Luck sealed a victory.
