Darts: Faye Hawksby fires Cueball in Slipper tie

FAYE Hawksby gamed in 23 darts to set Cueball ‘A’ on a winning run against York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League division one visitors Slipper.
The 23-darter from Hawksby, which included three tons, came after Vicky Middleton had opened the scoring for Slipper.
Cueball’s Joan Hunter closed 66 as the snooker club side had victory in their pockets within the singles.
Cueball ‘B’ came away from Flag with a hard-fought 6-3 win.
Walnut captain Di Moreland included 135 and 100 as she won the first leg against Burnholme before the visitors woke up.
Kate and Ruth Liddle and Howden, along with captain Marj Pearson, shot the club side into a 3-1 advantage.
Babs Harrison narrowed the gap, but Lynne Willstrop restored the lead. Kate Liddle and Howden combined with Carole Salkeld to secure victory, and Willstrop and Pearson added to their tally.
Dawn Exton and Tina Lane sealed victory for Five Lions at close rivals Tramways.
In division two, Castle Howard Ox ‘A’ are showing their determination to get back into the top flight as they were only prevented from a full house by their ‘B’ team captain Paula Allen.
Acomb ‘B’ are keeping the pressure on Ox. They had victory secured within the individuals against visitors Leeman ‘B’.
Bootham Club are also in the hunt after winning all the pairs for a 6-3 result against visitors Acomb ‘A’.
Dick Turpin held up Edinburgh with a resounding 7-2 win, despite Anthea and Pat Jamieson’s efforts.
Alison Buckley, Shepherd ‘B’ captain, checked out on a two-dart 91, but she finished on the losing side at Leeman ‘A’ who put together a fine team effort to win 6-3 in their division three clash.
Beeswing beat visitors Bootham Club by the same margin, with Vicky Sellers closing 66.
Leaders Severus ‘B’ met a Sun team who shone in the individuals, Cris Turgoose sealing victory before the front-runners cleaned up in the pairs.
Dawn Scott and Hayley Riley joined forces to seal victory for Shoulder at Shepherd ‘A’ by the smallest margin.
