SANDRA Winters, with a superb 22-dart leg, gave York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League division one front-runners Walnut Tree the best start.
However, Natalie Farmeary and Lynne Clapham edged Cueball ‘B’ into a lead, before Sophie Simpson and Sandra Bruce restored Trees’ advantage.
Bev Harton levelled the tie, Bruce combined with last week’s star player Carol Perrett to edge it.
Tracey Farmeary and Tina Platt set up a decider, which saw Simpson and Tree colleague Clair Cooper secure their hard-fought victory.
Tramways, in second place, gained ground as captain Sue Lowery and Roz Kerr both gamed 23 and Jo Hodges hit the tons as they lowered Flag 7-2.
Toni Smallwood and Jean West were their points scorers.
Five Lions won by the skin of their teeth as Anne Bass and Dawn Exton secured victory by the smallest margin against visitors Burnholme.
Clifton beat Slipper by the same margin despite the effort of the latter’s captain Doreen Johnstone.
Carol Sykes-Waller and Karen Hodgson combined to seal the win.
In division two, Acomb ‘A’ raced into a 4-0 lead before Linda Embleton and Jean Wright replied for Burton Club.
However, their joy was short-lived as Sammy Endersby and Laura Gatenby sealed Acomb’s win, Rose Gray and Michelle Murray adding to their tally.
Leaders Cueball ‘A’ had Faye Hawksby top-scoring as they shot into a 3-0 advantage. Linda Welch and Joan Hunter supported Hawksby.
Division three leaders Edinburgh, with Amanda Bevan and Julie Stable top-scoring, ran amok at Shepherd ‘B’, going home with a 6-3 win.
