CITY Supporters now need a mere point to secure the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League division one title.

They edged to the cusp of triumph when superbly led by captain Tracey Farmeary to a resounding 7-2 win against visitors Marcia ‘A’.

Farmeary gamed in 23, including scores of 140 and 100, while vice-captain Bev Harton weighed in with 140 and 123.

The Marcia point-winners were captain Di Moreland and Babs Harrison.

Next up for City Supporters are Tramways who ousted Fulfordgate, also 7-2.

Jo Hodges excelled as they confirmed runners-up position while Dawn Exton (two 100s) and Jill Reed were Fulfordgate’s lone successes.

Fresh from returning off holiday Burnholme’s Sarah Jackson was ably supported by Marj Pearson, Caroline Whittaker and Carole Salkeld in a 6-3 win over Marcia ‘B’ for whom captain Faye Hawksby top-scored.

After the previous week’s blip, Bootham Conservative Club countered with a 7-2 triumph over Severus ‘B’ to take the division two crown.

Dot Trousdale, Julia Hagyard, Jane Barnes and captain Janet Foster put the Cons Club in the driving seat. Wendy Storr and Sharon Mountain put Severus on the board, but Hagyard, with a 60, confirmed victory.

The battle for second place will go to the wire after Edinburgh ended their campaign 6-3 winners over visitors Acomb led by skipper Chris Lamb.

Severus ‘A’ pose a genuine threat after beating Jubilee ‘A’. Vicki Capes, Brenda Dawe and Charlotte Smith all scored two tons apiece before Sue Richardson and Carol Robson combined in the pairs.

Division three honours were seized by Castle Howard Ox ‘A’ after a 24-dart pair from Abbie Scott and Nella Majsterek sealed victory over visitors Sun, whose Linda Turgoose hit the tons.
