FORMER world number one Peter Manley, 1988 world champion Bob Anderson and BDO legend Tony O'Shea will be showcasing their tungsten talent alongside top local players at Huntington WMC tomorrow night.

Manley, Anderson and O'Shea will be joined by former world champion and Grand Slam of Darts title winner Scott Waites, along with fellow aces Alan Warriner-Little, Gary Robson, James Wilson and Glen Durrant at the York Darts Promotions Pro-am and Pro-challenge Grand Finals.

The eight professionals will partner amateurs, who have made the Grand Finals field by winning one of eight qualifying events, in a best-of-three-legs 701 knockout format to decide the pairs' champions.

All eight pros will then do battle against each other for the Pro-challenge trophy in best-of-five or seven-leg contests depending on time allowances.

Tickets, costing £10, will be available at the door with the action starting at 7.30pm.

York's Chris Quantock rattled off several 12-dart legs to win the final qualifying event at Clarence WMC and he will partner Waites on the evening.

Quantock is one of a quartet of York-based amateurs who will get their chance to shine on the oche, joining fellow Minstermen Steve Vine, Nick Harteveld and Mark McLoughlin.

The other non-professional contestants will be Stuart Limbert (Thorpe Willoughby), Ian Andrew (Barton-upon-Humber), Wayne Woodhouse (Ferrybridge) and Andy Harland (Driffield).

Draw for Pro-am: Durrant/Vine v Waites/Quantock; Manley/McLoughlin v O'Shea/Harland; Anderson/Andrew v Wilson/Limbert; Warriner-Little/Woodhouse v Robson/Harteveld.

Pro-challenge draw: Manley v Robson; Warriner-Little v O'Shea; Wilson v Anderson; Waites v Durrant.

Elsewhere, Whitwell-on-the-Hill's Terry Temple suffered first-round defeats at the latest PDC Players Championship events in Dublin.

World number 101 Temple lost 6-3 to Ross Smith and also went down 6-4 against Paul Amos.

The respective tournaments were won by Justin Pipe and Brendan Dolan.
