COUNTY championship conquest is the triple-pronged challenge for York Boxing Club.
Three of the club’s highly-rated fighters are in action seeking to be the pride of Yorkshire this Friday.
Thomas Mulvenna, last year’s Yorkshire champion, is going for the cruiserweight crown at 86-kilogrammes in the National Amateur Boxing Association county finals at the Mexborough Ballroom in Doncaster.
He will be joined on the bill by Paul Gordon, who toppled Hull Saints ABC’s vastly experienced Andy Rosenberg to earn his place in the middleweight final, and youngster Brady Coombes, who will be contesting the flyweight crown.
Said York BC head trainer Billy Wilson: “I believe they’ve all got a decent chance of winning Yorkshire titles as they are going into the finals on the back of solid victories.”
