Upcoming ring ace Lee Stewart strode into the lion’s den and came out a runaway victor in the bout of the night at an amateur show at Meanwood Working-Men’s Club.
Giving away weight, experience and age to Meanwood ABC’s Ben Peacock, the 19-year-old Stewart silenced more than 400 home supporters as well as rousing the passion of 50-plus of his followers from York as he gained a unanimous points decision.
In a toe to toe duel that topped the bill, both boxers produced eye-catching shots, but Clifton-based Stewart, who fights out of Hunslet ABC, regularly stunned his adversary with quicker and more damaging combinations.
