Shepherds finally opened their mixed one account in their 11th match with a 5-4 home win over RI Monday/Wednesday ‘B’.

RI Monday/Wednesday ‘A’ visited University Students ‘A’ in mixed one and were good value for a 7-2 win.

Chris Hunt and Kate Jackson led the line well for the visitors, and were rewarded with three straight wins.

Riverside ‘B’ were beaten 6-3 at home by RI Tuesday/Thursday ‘A’ team in mixed two.

Matt Hitchen and Penny Sheard were outstanding for the visitors and cruised to three two-game rubbers.

Tadcaster 86 ‘B’s poor form continued in mixed three with a 7-2 defeat away to Rowntrees, followed by a 5-4 home loss to Huntington ‘A’.

Phil Grant and Helen Shepherd were best for the confectionery side with a well taken maximum. There was no dominant pairing from either team when Tadcaster entertained Huntington, but the visitors swung the match when John Deighton and Theresa Roberts-Hardy beat Kevin Trail and Marina Hilditch 19-12 in the seventh rubber.

Pocklington’s recent good form deserted them as they lost 6-3 at home to Selby Jubilee ‘B’ and then 9-0 at leaders RI Tuesday/Thursday ‘B’.

Gavin Long and Shirley Jeffs won the match for Jubilee with a seventh rubber 21-18, 15-21, 23-21 win over Derek Burt and Yvonne Neave.

Paul Forth and Rachael Simister were in sparkling form for the Tuesday/Thursday team and easily won their three rubbers.

Huntington ‘B’ improved their promotion chances from mixed four with a 7-2 win at Middlethorpe.

Paul Moisley and Carolyn Arden were best for the visitors, winning three two-game rubbers.
