Huntington moved into a promotion place in ladies two in the York Badminton League after a 9-0 home win over Tadcaster.

York RI Tuesday/Thursday ‘B’ cemented second position in men’s two with a 6-3 home win over Selby Jubilee ‘A’. New pair Bill Clemitt and Tan Hwang Kung took all three of their rubbers.

York RI ‘B’ kept their unbeaten men’s three record intact when they beat University Staff Club 5-4. The score was tied at 4-4 going into the final rubber and Ian Turner and Calvin Benton kept their nerve.

Fulfordgate gained revenge for a recent defeat at Copmanthorpe with a 5-4 home win in men’s three.

Geoff Hepworth and Matt Hobman took the vital home maximum, but John Maule and Mark Winfield clinched the match.

York RI ‘A’ sealed the mixed one title with a 9-0 home win over Selby/Drax ‘A’. Chris Hunt and Kate Jackson secured a straight games maximum.

Clifton entertained York RI ‘B’ in mixed one and were good value for a 6-3 win. Shelagh Barker and Kevin Davison rolled back the years with a great display.

Clifton ‘B’ then visited University Students ‘A’ and went down 8-1 to a spirited campus team. Patrick Clarke and Laura Suddaby took the student honours.

Riverside ‘A’ grabbed the mixed two title with a 7-2 home win over St Johns.

University Students ‘B’ paid the price for fielding only two pairs when they lost out 5-4 against their Student ‘C’ team in mixed three.

RI Tuesday/Thursday ‘C’ are in the promotion frame in mixed five after a 7-2 win at Middlethorpe.
