WHAT a wonderful piece of journalism by Steve Carroll regarding Jedd O’Keefe (Turf Talk, The Press Friday, April 13).
The article was touching, from his illness and the support he had from his wife and friends to how the yard operation was kept going throughout.
With a string of 17 racehorses to train this season, and talking about quality and not quantity, it is always worth keeping a lookout for these type of trainers.
The only downside is that after reading the article late on Saturday night, I saw he’d had one runner at Newcastle that day and, knock me down with a feather, it won at 16-1.
