BEING a patriotic supporter, I have just watched a weekend rugby sandwich.

The outer parts were magnificent, pulsating, rugby league Grand Final semi-finals.

What action-packed continuous entertainment at its finest. Skill, bravery and commitment in abundance.

Unfortunately the filling, the England and Scotland rugby union World Cup game, had the above without the the skill.

Monotonous kicking and lack of ambition made it a dreary affair.

Those slow, overweight giants in the forwards would be better off taking up tug-of-war.

The only good point was England won.
