SO, another York City manager has bitten the dust at the Crescent.

If I was on the board, I would have suggested a pay structure for the players where they get paid on their performances.

In any profession, if you don't come up with the goods, you deserve the bullet.

If they had put as much enthusiasm on the pitch as Billy McEwan did in the technical area, then City would be a lot further up the league.

Unfortunately, football fans have short memories. We could easily be in the same predicament as Scarborough, if it wasn't for the hard work behind the scenes.

It was maybe a blessing in disguise for Billy and his family, as his health would have suffered watching the full-time professionals serve up dross week after week.

Just a thought... we need look no further for another manager than that ardent York City fan the Archbishop of York.

Maybe with a few prayers, a few loaves and fishes and a word with his boss, Dr John Sentamu may be able to double our points tally from overnight!

Whoever applies and gets the job will have my vote for a military medal for bravery.
