FULFORDGATE captain Michelle Britton was crowned York John Smith's Ladies' League individual champion, beating Tramways captain Tracey Farmeary in the final with two 21-dart legs.

Farmeary set the tone for the match as she opened the first game with a 140 and Britton responded with a ton before hitting 97 and checking out.

The second leg saw the Fulfordgate player start with 140 this time to which Farmeary replied with a ton.

After a few ordinary scores, Britton hit another ton which Farmeary followed with a 121 before missing a 79 check to let Britton in and close 15, 15 and double 16 for the title.

For the pairs, Farmeary was joined by Jayne Janes and Britton by Dawn Exton.

With the Tramways players missing their chance to go one-up, the 'Gate pair seized their opportunity with Britton chance closing double 10.

Farmeary hit a timely 140 and closed double two to set up a deciding leg in which all players hit high scores. Farmeary took her 20 and double-18 check-out with the ‘Gate pair ready to pounce on a 60 check.

In the Carol Perrett Drawn Pairs, Farmeary was joined by Clockhouses’ Lisa Benton where they faced Priory's Di Moreland and Puss’ Sandra Flintoft.

Farmeary and Moreland traded scores in the first leg as both players had a chance to finish before Farmeary located the double two.

Benton hit a 90 to give her the edge but the double eluded her as Flintoft levelled with a double-one check.

In the deciding pairs leg, a nip-and-tuck game which became a double-one shoot-out, the ‘Ways captain hit a timely ton before getting the vital double for the title.

Farmeary was again involved, this time in the Captain/Vice Captains' Cup, as she was joined by Bev Harton against Marcias’ Faye Hawksby and Chris Hayward.

Harton was on song in the first game hitting the high scores and a double-one finish.

Farmeary and Hawksby traded tons in the second leg before a double eight check again from Harton secured the match.

Burnholme's Sharon Neads was joined by sisters Sarah Jackson and Jane Dobson in the triples final as they squared up against ‘Gate's Jill Reed, Muriel Britton and granddaughter Cara.

Dobson hit the high scores in the first while Muriel's 140 kept ‘Gate in the chase, but Jackson and Neads stepped up and Neads closed double four with the ‘Gate trio faltering.

Muriel's 140, two tons from Cara and a double-four check from Muriel levelled the match.

Top scoring from all the players saw a close-fought deciding game which again ended with a double-one shoot-out that saw Sharon locate the double to secure the title.
