CITY of York Hockey Club Men I bounced back from last week's defeat to North League division one title-chasers Leeds with a 5-0 win at an ill-disciplined Harrogate.

Tom Feasby opened the scoring for the third-placed visitors with a precise slapped effort from a short corner.

A couple of minutes later, he won the ball in Harrogate's half to set off attacking play between Jack Purrington and Dan Ellwood which saw the latter double City's lead.

The second half was characterised by a lack of discipline from the hosts who spent large portions of the period with players sin-binned for both green and yellow cards.

A third City goal from Jack Fletcher's reverse shot from a short corner only caused tempers to flare further before Feasby added his second of the game and Purrington finished off the scoring with his eighth goal in eight games after good work from Feasby and Alex Cockram.

City of York II were held to a 2-2 draw at home to North Yorkshire rivals Harrogate II in the Yorkshire League premier division.

A poor start from the hosts saw Harrogate go two goals up before City got into the game, Rob Bradley-Consitt sweeping home the rebound after George Good's effort hit the bar. James Fitton then teed up Good for the equaliser before half-time.

The second period was dominated by City, with Harrogate barely able to break out of their own half let alone register a shot on goal, but the hosts spurned numerous chances and had a goal disallowed with five minutes remaining to leave the game deadlocked.

City of York III were narrowly beaten 3-2 by Leeds V at home in division one.

City of York IV's relegation from division two was confirmed after a double-header which saw a 2-2 home draw with third-placed Harrogate III and a 5-3 home loss to Wakefield III.

James Walker deflected into his own net for Harrogate's opener before City levelled through in-form striker Bryce Tuckett, who then set up Josh Doyle to give the home side the lead, firing across the keeper.

An even second half turned scrappy as Harrogate became the dominant force and, despite man-of-the-match Tendai Kalima's calming presence in defence, a short corner resulted in a penalty flick which was sent into the top left corner for the equaliser.

Tuckett netted twice for City in the opening half against Wakefield, first from the top of the 'D' before tapping in man-of-the-match Hamish Broadbent's ball at the back post, but the visitors levelled before the break.

Wakefield buried two more after the restart. Broadbent pulled one back with a reverse hit across goal, only for the visitors to seal the game with a drag flick from a short corner.

City of York V lost 5-2 at home to Driffield in division three with the goals coming from Andy Kay and Matthew Todd. City's man of the match was the industrious Martin Wright.

City of York VI were soundly beaten 7-1 at home by undefeated division four north leaders Scarborough, Cameron Mackay with the goal for the hosts.

City of York VII were beaten 4-0 at Halifax III in division four north.

City of York VIII drew 1-1 at home to division five north leaders Bingley Bees thanks to Chris Allerton's goal.

City of York IX conceded their division five north game at Harrogate.

City of York X lost 1-0 at Ben Rhydding VI in the men's development north division. Jasper Richardson was City's player of the match.
